Staff Policy

1. Core Principles

As a member of the FourthGens staff team, you are expected to uphold the integrity of the server and its community at all times. Your authority exists to serve the players, not yourself.

• Fairness: Treat every player equally regardless of their rank, playtime, or relationship to you.
• Professionalism: Represent the server positively in chat, Discord, and all official channels.
• Accountability: You are responsible for every action taken with your permissions. "I didn't know" is not a defense.

2. Abuse of Power

Abusing your staff authority will result in immediate removal. This includes but is not limited to:

• No item or money abuse. Do not give yourself or others items, ranks, or in-game currency without authorization from Sr Staff+.
• No command abuse. Do not use staff commands (teleport, fly, gamemode, etc.) to harass, disrupt, or gain an unfair advantage.
• No punishing without cause. Every punishment must be backed by a valid rule violation. Punishing a player because you dislike them, disagree with them, or for any reason not covered by the rules is prohibited.
• No discriminatory punishments. Punishing a player for being LGBTQ+, for their race, religion, or any protected characteristic is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to punishing for "gay behavior" or similar justifications.
• No building on others' plots without their explicit permission. Building on a player's plot without consent is considered griefing, even if performed by staff.
• No spying. Do not use staff tools to spy on players without a valid moderation reason.

3. Punishment Guidelines

• Always follow the punishment system outlined in the Staff Handbook (Punishment System).
• The /punish command should be your primary tool. Manual punishment commands require a documented reason.
• When in doubt, ask a Senior Staff member before acting.
• Warnings must be issued before escalating to mutes or bans unless the offense is severe (e.g., hacking, raiding).
• Do not punish without verifying evidence. A single player's word is not sufficient — investigate first.

4. Conduct & Professionalism

• Respect the chain of command. Disagreements with staff decisions should be raised privately with Sr Staff+, not argued in public chat.
• No favoritism. Friends and guild members are not exempt from the rules. If anything, hold them to a higher standard.
• Keep staff matters confidential. Do not discuss punishments, warnings, or internal staff discussions with regular players. The Staff Handbook is public — anything not in it stays private.
• Be active. Inactive staff members may be removed to make room for active ones. If you need a leave of absence, inform Sr Staff+.
• No toxic behavior. Staff are expected to de-escalate, not escalate. If you are angry or frustrated, step away and let another staff member handle the situation.

5. Plot & Building Policy

• Do not modify, clear, or delete a plot without the owner's consent unless it is part of an active grief investigation approved by Admin+.
• Builders may only build on plots they are explicitly trusted on or plots designated for development by Sr Staff+.
• Use /plot info to verify ownership before taking any plot-related action.

6. Violations & Enforcement

Violating the Staff Policy will result in internal disciplinary action, which may include:

• Verbal warning from Sr Staff+
• Written warning placed on your staff record
• Temporary suspension of staff permissions
• Immediate removal from the staff team
• In severe cases, a ban from the server

There is no appeal process for staff policy violations. The Sr Staff team's decision is final.

If you witness another staff member violating policy, report it to an Admin+ privately. Do not confront them publicly.

7. Acknowledgment

By submitting a staff application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Staff Policy and the Staff Handbook. Violation of these policies may result in removal from the staff team without warning.
